We believe a shoe that lasts is the most sustainable shoe there is. That belief runs through every choice we make, from the first material to the finished pair. Sustainability is not something we treat as a company matter alone. It is a shared one. We try to carry our part of it with care.
We choose our materials for how they perform and for what they leave behind. Our suede is produced without chrome or other heavy metals. It is biodegradable within 30 days, tested in a external laboratory under ISO certification and controlled composting conditions. Our uppers are crafted from European materials. Natural rubber comes from the rubber tree; which only grows in tropical regions, so this material is sourced from outside Europe. Wherever possible, we keep our supply chain close to home.
Every pair is handmade in a solar powered factory in Europe. There is no outsourcing and no mass production. We work in small, controlled batches, choosing quality over speed. That is on purpose. It keeps us close to the process and keeps waste in view. We believe a well made shoe should be kept and worn for a long time. Our suede holds a thickness of around 1.5 mm, thicker than the suede typically used in sneakers. Combined with our signature vulcanized rubber sole, this makes for a shoe designed to stay in your rotation for years, not seasons. The most sustainable pair is the one you keep wearing.
Responsibility is not something we added later. One percent of our revenue goes to 1% for the Planet, every year, whatever the year brings. We are working towards B-Corp certification, not as a badge but as a standard to hold ourselves to. We know we are early in this. Making anything at all has an impact. Our aim is simple. Keep reducing our impact. Stay honest about where we fall short. Do better with every collection.
